Self Portrait Show opens at Artlink and ACPL

Over 100 area artists will be exhibiting their self portraits in Artlink’s Self Portrait Exhibition opening on Friday, November 30. The opening reception for this all-media show will be held simultaneously in Artlink’s Main Gallery and in the Jeffrey Krull Gallery of the newly renovated Allen County Public Library. The public is invited to hop a bus between the two venues from 7 to 9:00 p.m. on opening night. The exhibition will be up through January 10, 2008.

“This is a show that we’ve done a couple times in the past and it’s been so much fun that it’s worth repeating,” said Artlink Executive Director Deb Washler. “A first for Artlink is that we’re working with Lesley Lundgren from the library so we can present this show at two venues. And because there’s twice as much wall space, there’s no size limit on the artwork this year – that’s made a lot of artists happy. Also new is the bus for opening night - visitors can start at either venue and grab a bus back and forth between the galleries. It’s going to be a fun evening,” said Washler.

Among the featured artists for the Self Portrait Exhibition are Norm and Dixie Bradley, Dan Dienelt, Kay Gregg, Gwen Gutwein, David Krouse, Ales and Renata Pancner, Michael Poorman, Cathy Rowand, Eric Stine, Ellen Stuckey and Cara Wade.
