The Fort Wayne Museum of Art is looking for volunteers to staff a committee for the following 2007 Events:
· Chalk Walk
· Stem & Stein
· Trolley Tour
Chalk Walk
The FWMoA's Chalk Walk is one of the largest attractions during the Three Rivers Festival. Over the course of this exciting two-day event, more than 400 artists of all ages and skill levels transform Main Street into their own quarter-mile long canvas of inspirational color creativity. The artwork of Chalk Walk’s dedicated participants draws over 25,000 visitors. This is a phenomenal community family event that raises funds for the Museum. Chalk Walk 2007 will be held July 14th & 15th.
Stem & Stein
Dry reds to sweet whites, bitter hops to smooth barley, fresh spring roles to spicy sausage - expand your palette’s vocabulary at the 1st Annual FWMoA Stem & Stein!
Several of Indiana’s finest microbreweries and wineries, together with several of Fort Wayne’s premier restaurants, will have a variety of their signature selections available for sampling. A ‘taste’ of the Fort’s best local music will delight your auditory taste buds! Stem & Stein is scheduled for Saturday, August 4, 2007.
Trolley Tour
It’s “All Aboard” as the guests of the annual Trolley Tour gather for cocktails in the Museum’s Atrium before stepping into trolleys and motor coaches to be luxuriously transported on a magical tour of local galleries to view some of the greatest art that Fort Wayne has to offer. Along the way, Trolley passengers are treated to a veritable moveable feast as each gallery presents a distinctive “palette of appetizers” from one of Fort Wayne’s finest restaurants and a wide range of drinks from that establishment’s cash bar. Trolley Tour 2007 will be held September 20th.
For questions or more information, please contact Dana Smith at smith@fwmoa.org or 260-422-6467 ext. 341.

Movement Opens at Artlink
Artlink, 437 E. Berry St, Fort Wayne, IN 46802
Friday, March 2, 2007, reception 7 – 9 p.m.
Exhibition is up through Wednesday, April 4
GALLERY HOURS:
Tuesday – Saturday noon-5:00 p.m., Sunday 1-5:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday evenings 6-9:00 p.m.
COST: Free for Artlink members, non-members $2 suggested donation
CONTACT: Deb Washler, Executive Director, 260-424-7195, deb@artlinkfw.com,
Artlink presents Movement, an all-media exhibition of work by 14 regional artists. The artwork depicts the human form in motion. The work of fourteen artists was chosen by the Artlink Artist Panel from slides and CDs submitted in January, 2007. This exhibition includes sculpture, paintings, drawings, photographs and mixed media art work.
“The inspiration for this show was the Fort Wayne Ballet’s 50th Anniversary Celebration,” said Deb Washler, Artlink Executive Director. “The exhibit initially started out to be a motion-themed exhibit, but because of the Ballet, the theme turned into ‘the human figure in motion.’’’
Washler also pointed to an exciting short film by Dan Dienelt, a local mixed media artist/photographer. The film, which can be viewed in the gallery, features music by hip-hop artist Eric Stine (a/k/a EDS). Cheryl Gierscher of Huntertown is back with more intriguing sculpture made entirely of recycled material, along with the sculpture of Tuck Langland from Granger, Indiana.
Included in the exhibition are photographs by Rob Borel, Dan Dienelt, Jamie Hahn, Cathleen Huff, Cindy Orr of Columbia City and Cara Lee Wade. There are paintings by Alan McLuckie and Kat Rohrbacher, drawings by Suzanne Galazka and sculpture by Sommer Starks. Mixed media pieces will be on display by Eric Stine and Linda Young.

I hope you will brave the cold to join us for an exhibition reception at Huntington University this Friday (February 2).
Over the past year I have had the honor of curating a wonderful exhibition for Huntington University, Huntington, Indiana. This exhibition entitled "The New Aesthetics of Ceramics" features functional ceramics by 29 of today's most innovative ceramic artists.
I believe this is the best exhibition I have curated so far! This is a must see show if you teach, collect, make pots, or just have idle curiosity about contemporary
art.
